winter wonderland invitation & cake bunting

Wednesday, December 22, 2010

One of my friends was hosting a baby shower and asked for my help with the invitations.  I then designed this cake after the design of my invitations for another friend. This baby invitation is available in my etsy shop and is also able to be an announcement.

Isn't the mini cake bunting cute!!!! I thought it turned out really well.

baby it's cold outside

Tuesday, December 21, 2010

Baby it's cold outside...this morning we woke up to a Winter Wonderland. It has snowed soooo much in the last 24 hours. Three or four days ago it snowed, then melted within a day so there were no traces of snow, we thought we would have a snow free Christmas. Boy were we wrong. Here are some images that are inspiring me right now by our snow storm.

holiday gift wrapping ideas

Monday, December 20, 2010

Christmas is just around the corner, which means late nights wrapping gifts. I have always LOVED wrapping presents. When I was younger I would wrap all of my presents and my siblings christmas presents. My Mom would tape my boxes and mark our initials on the box so I would know what present belonged to who.... I know I'm weird, but I love wrapping!  Here are my current gift wrapping obsessions. Enjoy and have fun wrapping all your gifts this Holiday Season.

Personalize your gifts by having a monogram present. You can use scraps of fabric, wrapping paper of scrapbook paper. via Martha Stewart

Make your tag the center of your gift presentation. I really like how the ribbon is on top of the tag.

These are so beautiful with the cinnamon wreath. If you look closely some of the wreaths have a letter or heart cut out from the middle. (You can tell I have been loving monogramed gift wrapping!!!)

For all those baking gifts you have to deliver- here are two easy and impressive options. Wrap ribbon, felt (or paper) cut-out and a tag around a pail. Second fill a baking pan with cookies clustered in cupcake liners, rotating each cluster 90 degrees. Simply string ribbon across with a sweet note or tag.

Fala lala laaa Christmas party dessert bar

Thursday, December 16, 2010

I just completed this fabulous party for a little girl and her girlfriends. I wanted to make it fun, girly and obviously Christmas, but not in the traditional color scheme. The party girl loves penguins, which made me incorporate penguins into the dessert table and make a winter wonderland. This party had two tables, one with the desserts and the other was a hot chocolate bar to warm up after being in the cold. Printables available in our Shop.

The dessert table included over sized pix sticks, snowflake cookies, sugar cookie "cupcakes" (Wants and Wishes:: Dessert Studio signature item), ribbon candy, rock candy and personalized lollipops for each little girl. The cupcake toppers and signs are available on my etsy shop.

For the hot chocolate bar we made marshmallow dippers/stirrers, rock candy, peppermint sticks and chocolate Pirouettes.

Tis the season to be baking... cookies

Cookies are my favorite sweet to make. They are so easy and rewarding. I have to admit they do take a bit longer, but nothing beats a perfectly baked cookie that is slightly crisp on the outside and gooey on the inside. Plus you get to snack on the cookie dough through the baking process.

Homemade Peppermint Patties from butterflyfoodie

Don't these look delish!!! They are perfect- thick, chewy gingerbread from diamondfordesserts

Here are some snowflake sugar cookies that I made for a couple close friends. I went with a sweet wintery color scheme to mix it up this year. I love how these turned out.

As Christmas is approaching, I start thinking about the goodies I'm going to handout to my friends, family and neighbors. Since, I LOVE baking and package details.... this is my favorite season to give treats (my close second is Valentines Day, but we will cover that in Jan/Feb.)

Will you be making cookies, candy, cupcakes, popcorn balls or a mix platter? We will start with the cupcake selections. Here are a few of my favorites.

Real Parties:: Conner's Superhero

Monday, December 6, 2010

A couple weeks ago a new prospective client contacted me, to see if I could help her with her two sons Superhero Birthday party. We instantly connected and I felt like I have known her for years. We added multiple items to the Wants & Wishes Superhero Collection which are now available in my shop.

What a beautiful spread....
Don't you love the action signs and strings of lights.

Our "Pop" sticker label
At each place setting a water bottle with one of my Superhero wrappers.
Everyone was in attendance.... Superman, Superwomen, Spiderman and Batman.
